Recap: Dave East and Tango Hotel Head to Brooklyn For a Holiday Pop-Up at Vinnies Styles

Recap: Dave East and Tango Hotel Head to Brooklyn For a Holiday Pop-Up at Vinnies Styles

Last night (12/12) we had a dope family get-together in Brooklyn to celebrate a few things: our new holiday launch of cut-and-sew apparel, and a special collaboration with Flatbush's own Vinnie's Styles and resident Tango Hotel ambassador Dave East.

Fans of the East Harlem MC came out in lines to show love, regardless of it being one of the coldest nights this month out here in NYC. Highlighted by good vibes, fresh gear, and a few complimentary bottles of Ciroc for attendees to enjoy, the night got off to a great start and only got better as Dave made his way over to the shop.

The collaborative hoodie is a limited edition run of our signature Tango Nostra Hoodie, made of cotton fleece and features a Vinnie's graphic motif and branding from Dave and the Tango crew. The pullover is available in classic grey, exclusively at Vinnie's for $120.00 USD.

The homie Al, fresh from a successful event at this year's Art Basel in Miami, did a live body painting that was too good to look away from — his choice of canvas may have played a huge part in that. Also on deck to cop were a few colorways of his Brains Hoodie, which you can pick up right now in our online store.

Take a look at more images from the Holiday Launch with Dave East & Vinnie's Styles below. You may seem some familiar faces, and you're sure to see some happy ones as Dave and the crew arrived, greeted fans, and treated his one-year-old daughter Kairi Chanel like the little princess she is.

Tango Hotel and Dave East Collaborate For a Holiday Launch Event at Vinnie's Styles Brooklyn

The Tango Hotel crew is feeling the holiday spirit, and we're kicking off the celebration in the heart of Brooklyn.

Alongside the homie Dave East and our fam at Brooklyn's own Vinnie's Styles, we'll be dropping an exclusive version of our heavyweight Fleece Hoodie — the first in our inaugural cut-and-sew program launching this winter.

Come though the shop for a meet-and-greet with our favorite Harlem MC, on top of a chance to cop more from our current collection. Our guy Al-Baseer will also be in the building showing off his skills with a live painting to coincide with the art installation — you'll just have to come through and see that one for yourselves!

The event goes down tonight (12/12) at Vinnie's famed shop on Flatbush Ave. If you're in the city and wanna experience the 'permanent vacation' lifestyle in person, swing by and chill for a bit.

Al-Baseer Holly x Jason of Beverly Hills Collab Finally Released

On August 16, the celebration of the exclusive custom piece designed by Jewelry designer Jason Arasheben and Contemporary artist Al-Baseer Holly (Bonic) took place.  33 unique pieces were released.

The launch party took place as JBH Headquarters where complimentary appetizers, desserts, and cocktails were served.

"We collaborated with artist, @theartofalbaseer to recreate his, 'What's a skull without a brain'— a homage to Basquiat," said Jason.

"The eyes represent Basquiat's vision while the brain represents his thoughtfulness in the art and the 3 is for 'the all seeing eye,' which is the definition of ABH's birth name "AL-Baseer Holly.'"

One of lucky owners and  followers of Bonic's artwork was Brandon Jennings.

Dave East’s Def Jam Debut ‘Paranoia

Dave East’s Def Jam Debut ‘Paranoia

Ever since signing with Def Jam way back in September 2016, the public has been waiting for the first big release from Harlem rapper Dave East. Fans may finally be getting their wish, with East taking to his Instagram page on Sunday evening to share the official artwork and release date for his major label debut, Paranoia: A True Story.

According to East's post, the album is set to drop in less than two weeks, with the rapper targeting an Aug. 18 drop.

Many came to know East because of his connection to a famous mentor in the rap world. Under a joint venture with Mass Appeal Records, East was mentored early on by Nas, and if he holds true to his word, he will be an executive producer for Paranoia. East has gone above and beyond to thank the Queensbridge native for his guidance and what it has meant for his career.

"Nas really introduced the world and a lot of people to me," said East, "that was ideal as far as me first coming in. It's at a time now where a machine really helps what I'm trying to do, especially being from New York and not trying to just stay in New York. I'm not trying to be underground or classified as a certain type of dude."

If his last couple projects are to be used as guides of what's to come, there should be plenty of big-name features on Paranoia. His last mixtape, 2016's Kairi Chanel, featured appearances from heavyweights like 2 Chainz, Fabolous, The Game, and Cam'Ron, and he continues to keep pretty elite company these days; the Harlem native was spotted out in Miami with Drake, French Montana, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne in late July.
